san miguel

the streets are like a grid, the buildings pushed right to the edge of each curb, and behind each doorway is something spectacular filled with history and art.

not one inch of this city lacks character and everything is pristine. it's clean and bright and lovely. i don't know if it's intentional or inherent but everything is well designed. original facades are kept in tact with modern amenities hidden behind them, even the dhl and fedex offices are disguised by entryways that have been around since the pony express. all signage looks like it was painstakingly designed by a graphic artist.

beautiful, beautiful, beautiful city.
