you think it's too far but it's not. go. i enjoyed every minute of my time here and the 274 hour plane ride is totally worth it. it was really kind of incredible to be that far away from home.

if you are a regular reader you know that i went to thailand in october. that was fabulous as well but the biggest difference between the two trips was exploration. in thailand we had the luxury of being bused from place to place and have every day planned for us, that allowed us a well informed tour of the cities and places we saw and it was unforgettable. this time my boyfriend and i researched before we left but basically walked out of our hotel room every morning not knowing where we'd end up or what we'd see. we discovered everything on our own. it was amazing.

i am forever grateful for these experiences and i wish everyone the chance to take their own journeys, no matter how near or far.

longing to loll

i was cleanin' up my desktop last night and came across these pics from last spring. i can't wait for that splendid season to roll around again. beers on the porch (alexis' specifically) and baseball games.

we're almost there.

i've been considering painting my living room a new color. currently, it's a light blue but i feel like it needs something more funky. i'm thinking of going with this yellow that i selected for my best bud's dining room a while back, baby chick by benjamin moore. it looks hot as hell online but in real life it's the most perfect cool yellow i've ever seen. i'm talking hue here.

or maybe i'll do lavender. the boy already nixed pink, boo, but not for the reason you'd think. he thought our dining room and living room would look like a strawberry ice cream sandwich because the dining room is almost brown. point taken.

maybe once i get my new settee i can make a more well informed decision.
